“I Don’t Know What I Want (Yet)”:
A Young Adult’s Guide to Passenger to Pilot
Hi—I’m Stephanie, founder of Passenger to Pilot.
I’m a mentor, coach, and someone who has spent most of my career helping people get unstuck, build confidence, and move forward with purpose.
I’ve worked with CEOs and graduates, students and professionals—but some of my most important work is with young adults figuring out who they are and what they want.
If you’re feeling unsure, lost, or overwhelmed—you’re not alone.
And you don’t have to figure it all out by yourself.
That’s exactly what Passenger to Pilot is for.
Who this is for
You might be:
· In sixth form or college, not sure what to do next
· At university but unsure what job you actually want after
· Working already but not loving it—or wondering if it’s “enough”
· Feeling like everyone else has a plan (but you don’t)
· Tired of being told what to do—but unsure how to decide for yourself
If that sounds like you, keep reading.
What is Passenger to Pilot
It’s one-to-one mentoring that helps you go from:
· Drifting → Deciding
· Doubting → Doing
· Second-guessing → Stepping forward
· Passenger → Pilot
It’s not school. It’s not therapy. It’s not your parents.
It’s a space where you get to talk about you—without judgment or pressure.
Why “Passenger to Pilot”?
This is different for everyone—but here are some common things that come up:
· “I don’t know what I want.”
· “I’m scared of choosing the wrong thing.”
· “I feel behind.”
· “I want to feel more confident.”
· “My parents have expectations I don’t know how to meet—or challenge.”
· “I can’t seem to get started.”
· “I don’t know how to talk about myself in interviews or CVs.”
· “Everyone else seems to be ahead of me.”
We can talk about all of that. And anything else that’s on your mind.
How I work
I won’t tell you what to do—but I’ll help you work it out
I’ll challenge you when you need it—but always with kindness
I’ll help you spot patterns, build confidence, and take action
I’ll keep things real—and respect that your pace is your own
How it works
We meet one-to-one, online or in person
You can book a single session or ongoing support
If a parent helps set it up, that’s totally fine—but our sessions are just for you
You set the agenda, or I can help you work out where to start

“Stephanie’s help was invaluable. Her assistance and hands-on approach was instrumental in me being able to obtain four different full-time offers.
Her support began during the final two years of my university degree—at the height of the COVID-19 lockdowns. At the time, I was unsure about what came next, certain only that my undergraduate subject wasn’t the path I wanted to follow. Stephanie worked with me to explore my interests, background, and values; we built a CV that reflected who I was and what I could offer, and created a shortlist of internships that aligned with the direction I was beginning to take.
Stephanie looked at the application processes with me and helped prepare me for interviews and questions. We role-played, refined my thinking, and used each interview as a learning opportunity. She would proactively check in on the status of my applications. Stephanie also explained to me the differing career paths within companies and what I could expect in the short and long term, and helped guide me to a career path of which I was suited to.
When personal circumstances meant declining an internship, we returned the following year to focus on full-time roles—navigating options, rejections, and next steps with clarity and resilience.
I could not recommend Stephanie enough, her professional experience and insight benefitted me immensely, much more than I could ever have expected.”

“I knew that I didn’t want to go to uni and felt like everyone else had a plan except me. I’d done a few jobs in retail and hospitality, but I had no real direction—and trying to talk to my parents about it only made things more tense. They wanted the best for me, but it felt like we were speaking different languages.
Working with Stephanie changed that. She helped me figure out what I actually wanted—not what I thought I should want—and we explored roles that matched my strengths and personality. She helped me build a proper CV, apply for jobs, and prep for interviews. But what really made the difference was that she also supported my parents. She helped them understand the path I was choosing and why it mattered.
I’m now in a full-time role I feel proud of, doing work that actually fits me. And for the first time, my parents aren’t just relieved—I think they really understand and respect the path I’ve chosen. It feels good to be moving forward on my own terms, with their support behind me.”

“Stephanie has supported me over the last six years—starting after my penultimate year summer internship, when I realised my undergraduate degree subject wasn’t the right fit. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do instead, and she helped me explore new options, understand what might suit me, and navigate a complete career pivot.
We worked together to build a strong CV, prepare applications, and rehearse for competitive interviews. Her guidance and encouragement gave me the confidence to pursue opportunities outside my degree path—and ultimately led to several full-time offers. I began my career as a strategy consultant, and I’ve continued to return to Stephanie for support ever since.
During my most recent job search, she took the time to provide high-quality interview advice throughout the entire process. I was able to reach out at any time to talk through concerns, and she was genuinely excited to hear about my progress. Stephanie gave valuable feedback after each round and helped me follow post-interview best practices, like writing thoughtful thank-you notes.
Over the years, she’s been a sounding board through tricky situations, people challenges, and big decisions. Her advice is always grounded, practical, and focused on helping me move forward with clarity. Without her support, I genuinely don’t think I’d be where I am today. Thank you very much!”
